Adoptable Dog Of The Week – Beyonce

You’d better put a ring on it, because Beyonce, our Adoptable Dog of the Week, sure isn’t going to stay single for long! She’s a 2-year-old German Shepherd from Sacramento, California who can’t wait to find her forever family. Beyonce is already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Beyonce’s Story:

Beyonce is a tall 2 year old female weighing about 70 lbs. She was an owner-surrender from a Sacramento area shelter. Her previous owner said she didn’t get along with their other small dog, which was the reason they gave her up.

Currently, Beyonce is living with two male German Shepherds. She doesn’t seem interested in playing with the other dogs, but doesn’t cause any friction around them either. She is on the timid side, but it could just be her need to adjust to a new environment. When excited or uncertain of things, she will jump up. Beyonce walks nicely on a leash and likes to go for car rides. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. She is sleeping in a crate at night, but will whine for a while when first instructed to go in. Her house manners have been good and she is living well with several cats in the foster home. Preferring to be in the house, she sometimes takes a lot of coaxing to get her to go outside.

She has not been tested with children and because she jumps up occasionally care would be needed around small children. Her affectionate, easy-going presence suggests she would be fine with respectful older children. She has a very sweet face and sometimes looks like she’s smiling at you. Continued training and confidence building will go a long way with this lovely girl.
