You’ve got to love Shanghai, an adorable mop of fur who happens to be our Adoptable Dog of the Week. Shanghai is a 1.5-year-old male Shih Tzu and Brussels Griffon mix from Indianapolis, IN. He is already neutered, up to date with shots, and not good with kids.

Shanghai’s Story:

This spunky little boy has a huge personality in a little 10 lb body! Shanghai is confident, fearless and feisty; he knows he’s adorable and doesn’t hesitate to use his cherubic appearance to get what he wants. Like many terriers, he has boundless enthusiasm and endless charm but he can be outspoken and stubborn as well. He’s a busy chap who likes to plenty of stimulation and activity; but he also enjoys some snuggle time and cuddling with his special person. Because he likes to have his own way, Shanghai will need a home with consistent boundaries or he will quickly make himself the ‘king of the castle’. Because of his high level of assertiveness, he would not do well in a home with children under 14 years as they wouldn’t be able to engender the respect Shanghai would need in order to behave appropriately. He’s quite the character and his antics are the source of constant amusement to us; he loves having a fringe on his tail so that he can chase it. We think he’s hoping it’s a squirrel that keeps showing up! Although he gets along with other dogs, he can be bossy and opinionated so would not do well with another dominant canine. Shanghai’s adoption fee is $225, and he’s neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations.
