Friends, Romans, Countrymutts! Lend me your fluffy ears, as I review the BarkBox Subscription box for dogs.

I don’t know about you, but I love getting mail. Especially packages. I love opening them, seeing what’s inside and sharing the goodies with everyone. And what’s better than sharing with puppers? That’s the beauty of the BarkBox subscription box – it’s like Christmas and my birthday all wrapped up in adorable packaging!

Every month, BarkBox features an uber cool theme. And even though the theme changes, you’re always guaranteed two awesomely unique dog toys (designed by the BarkBox crew with innovative materials), two bags of all natural treats (always sourced and made in the US or Canada), and a scrumptious, all natural chew. Your dog will be eagerly anticipating the mailman’s arrival every month – and not just to bark at him!

Shakespeare was onto something when he said “To thine own self be chew.” Okay, I may have edited that quote a little, but it’s for a great reason – I got to review a BarkBox subscription box, and this month’s theme is all about, you guessed it, Shakespeare. More specifically, this month is all about “Shakespeare in the Dog Park.”

The fun starts with the play bill, where you’re invited to fill in the blanks to write a sonnet for your pup. As you settle in to enjoy your box, the playbill introduces you to the cast of the Shakespeare BarkBox. If you see a toy that you like that’s not included in your box, feel free to order it online at BarkBox’s online store.

The boys and I loved the two toys. Puggle, Puggle Cauldron entices with crinkle sounds and squeakers. Instead of eye of newt, you’ll find squeaker-stuffed creatures inside this fuzzy cauldron, with a fluffy, cracking crinkly fire underneath.

To Pee or Not to Pee – with Zed, that’s always the question (and the answer is usually to pee… on all my stuff). The pooches were eager to sink their teeth into the soft plush skull. Oscar and Zed couldn’t wait to play tug of war with the crinkly pull-through scroll.

Next up – the nom noms. Zed and Oscar went nuts over the Plato Pet Treats Thinkers Chicken Recipe chew stick. There was only one, so the boys had to share, but there was plenty to go around. They got their half, and went to their separate corners to chew. That kept them busy while I took more photos.

And who doesn’t love a cleverly named bag of treats? BarkBox’s Shakespeare box comes with Much Ado About Stuffing (Duck & Turkey Dog Treats) and All’s Well That Ends Bacon (Bacon and Spinach Dog Treats). These treats got a standing (on hind legs) ovation from the guys… and they weren’t acting!

Lastly, who doesn’t love a bonus gift? And this month’s free bonus item is a Ruff Collar. Oscar looks like he just stepped off the stage, doesn’t he? He’s ready to go on a super fancy walk!

Out, out damned spot – and get yourself a BarkBox subscription! I feel great about giving my dogs everything in the box, and I can’t wait until I get next month’s treasure trove.
