‘Tis the season! And because of the holidays, Blitzen, our Adoptable Dog of the Week from Adoptapet.com, is a gift you’ll always treasure. Blitzen is an adult male Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd Mix from Spartanburg, SC. He is already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Blitzen’s Story:
Blitzen is one of many dogs that have been turned into a NC shelter by their breeder. They are nice dogs, with a lot of potential, that have been kennel dogs all of their lives and need to be taught how to be a companion. Those blue eyes are like looking at a sunny day! When he looks at you, tail wagging, you can’t help but fall in love. He asks to be petted, coming up gently and nudging your hand. He follows you wherever you go, curious to what you are doing, and hoping you are getting a treat for him. Such a sweetheart – he will steal your heart with his innocence and learning how it is to be a companion! Blitzen has a vet visit on 5/15/2013. We now have a name for his circling – it is vestibular disease. Blitzen turns and walks in wide, lazy circles, and it is most likely from an infection that was not treated. He is healed now, but some of the remaining effects are still seen. It does not seem to bother him and it is good news that it is not bad hips! Blitzen looks at the world a little differently but other than that, he’s a great dog.
