Adoptable Dog of the Week – Spots

He might look serious, but this dashing doggo is all snuggles and tail wags once you get to know him! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Spots, a 2-year-old spotted coat mutt from Santa Fe, New Mexico. This handsome boy is neutered, up to date on his shots and microchipped. Spots is a friendly pooch that does well with other well-behaved dogs. He hasn’t been around young kids or cats in the shelter, but he has a sweet nature and a positive attitude – a great start!

Spots’ Tale

This lovely doggo unfortunately had to come to the shelter because his owner couldn’t look after him anymore, but he’s hoping he’ll have better luck the second time around- this time, it would be perfect if his family was a furever one. Spots is a medium breed dog that weighs circa 40 pounds- he’ll do well in an apartment and a house with a backyard both. He is sweet and energetic and will love to play with you, go on long walks but also snuggle after he got his exercise for the day. Owing to his size and young age, Spots will need regular daily exercise to burn off energy, and he will do best with a family that meets his needs. And loves to give treats – that one’s a given!

Spots has a great temperament and has been good around other dogs in the shelter, so if you already have a pooch in your family, it’s highly likely they’ll hit it off. As for kitties, there hasn’t been a chance for shelter workers to test Spots around them- so you’ll have to do a meet and greet if you have a feline roomie. In case Spots sounds like a pooch that would fit in with your lifestyle, contact Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society for more information about the adoption process.
