We’re so glad someone put in the effort and research to make it official. According to a recent Australian study, walking your dog is one of the top five ways to meet new people.

When a guy is walking his dog, it makes it appear like he is kinder and gentler. And you’ve seen this in action – a woman will stop to pet the cute dog and strike up a conversation with its owner. And guys, this is your chance to make a move. But do it quickly – you only have her attention for about three seconds before she’s on her way.

Not only do guys have the doggy cuteness factor on their side, walking a dog suggests that they are more physical fit and take better care of themselves. It’s the trifecta of picking up!

As to the breeds that most often get the ladies attention, German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Siberian Huskies, or French Bulldogs are the most likely to stop her in her tracks.
