Powered with Chia Seeds, Lincoln Bark dog treats pack a nutritious punch

Oscar will test out most products sent to us – even if it means hopping into the bath. But man, does he ever get excited when a treat package comes to the office. And when Lincoln Bark sent him a package of Sweet Little Butterpup and Treat Smart treats, he ripped the box open with gusto.

Lincoln Bark came about when the CEO’s two-year-old pup Sophie was diagnosed with Addison’s disease. She needed to eat more, but refused all the treats they tried to give her. And that’s when they decided to make their own treats using 100% natural, human grade ingredients. We’re happy to say that these treats did the trick and Sophie is doing much better now. Even better, these treats are now available to pet parents everywhere. Made in small batches, Lincoln Bark’s treats contain no wheat, soy, corn, preservatives, additives, artificial colors or flavors.

Let’s start with the Sweet Little Butterpup treats. Oscar scored the Pumpkin Peanut Butter Recipe. It’s made with pumpkin and peanut butter, and also contains Chia Seeds, a superfood that contains antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. These crunchy bits were a hit with Oscar. They break apart without much trouble, so I was able to put them in his treat toy. As he got them out, his tail was wagging happily as he noshed on them.

Oscar also received the Duck and Pea Treat Smart treats. Smaller in size, they make for great training treats. Soft and chewy, the Treat Smart snacks contain Chia Seeds, as well as cod liver oil and flaxseeds. I used these in Oscar’s treat puzzle and he went right to work looking for them. He found them in record time and enjoyed his prizes for a puzzle well done.
