For many, turning 30 is a milestone, but for a cat in the United Kingdom? It’s remarkable!

In Exeter, England, a Maine Coon cat named Rubble just celebrated her 30th birthday, and claimed the unofficial title of Europe’s oldest cat.

Rubble’s owner Michele Heritage said she adopted Rubble as a kitten before her 20th birthday. Michele is 50-years-old and says that though he’s gotten a little grumpy in his old age (don’t we all?), she is still quite a lovely cat with a good disposition.

To celebrate such a fantastic milestone, Rubble received a free checkup at her local veterinarian’s office, City Vets. Heritage says that the vet should get all the credit for keeping Rubble healthy throughout the decades, and it is believed Rubble is now the oldest living cat in Europe. If we were to put Rubble’s years into ‘human’ years, she’d be about 137-years-old.

The Guinness Book of World Records has a Siamese cat from Mansfield, Texas as the oldest cat in the world. ‘Scooter’ was born in 1986, and is now a 32-year-old cat.

That said, the oldest cat ever recorded was a cat from Austin, Texas named Creme Puff. Creme Puff lived to be 38-years-old. And you thought your eight-year-old guinea pig was a big deal.

Rubble’s vet Shaun Moore says that aside from the medication she takes for her blood pressure, she is in great health and going strong. Clearly, she immensely enjoys the title of oldest cat in the UK.

Happy Birthday, Rubble!
