Good things come in furry packages, just like Nikita, our Adoptable Dog of the Week from Adoptapet.com. Nikita is a female adult Alaskan Malamute from Boise, ID. She is already spayed, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Nikita’s Story:

Hi there, my name is Nikita and I am a very energetic and friendly girl from the MT puppy mill seizure. A home where someone will do lots of outdoor activities with me would be my preference. I am very agile and athletic, and a very happy girl, too. I love to run and swim in deep water but heck, I’m excited and happy to get out for any kind of exercise! I am having fun playing with some of the other male dogs here, so I would enjoy the companionship of another friendly playful boy-dog but I would probably do fine as an only dog too. If you have a boy-dog, it would be best if he agrees to let me be the queen-bee and isn’t worried about being the alpha. But, no other female dogs, small dogs or cats please! I want there to be no competition with my utter fabulousness! Speaking of fabulous, I can be an escape artist if I don’t get enough stimulation or exercise and get bored. I will sleep in my crate without any issues and I am quiet when in my kennel at my foster mom’s house. I get play time in the yard there and the other day I found an old squeaky toy that one of the other dogs stashed away. Boy was I in HEAVEN! I have never had toys to play with and I do believe my future home should buy me lots of these things to play with. Because I missed out on some early socialization, it took me awhile to warm up to human attention, but now I’m quite affectionate and like to come get some loving from my foster mom. I walk pretty well on leash, but I can be a puller. (But you wanted to buff out the biceps anyway didn’t you?) I am also very food motivated and possessive, so I will need to be fed separately. If you are a fun and active person, then you could be the person for me!
