Famous Boston Terrier Lola B. Boston has joined our team (along with her handler, Suzanne). And she’s starting off her position by reviewing Kurgo’s new Classic Lawn Games.

Lola was excited to receive her first package to review. In the box, we found an assortment of colorful toys:

Backyard Birdies

Doggie Darts

Huck-It Horseshow

Target Jack

Wapple Ball

Tossing Disc

The collection of Classic Lawn Games from Kurgo was well received by Lola B. When I think about some other yard toys purchased and used in the past, the durability of these Lawn Games gets five paws up. Lola B. wanted to sit and chew on the Target Jack, the Backyard Birdie and the Doggie Dart. Even after the first day in the yard these toys looked brand new with no signs of hard play.

But you can’t just write about a day of using dog toys – that’s not enough time to give them a true licking. That’s why Lola B. and I decided to keep a diary of our experiences with the Kurgo Classic Lawn Games.

Day 1:

Target Jack is the favorite toy today. Really loves to chew it. Carry it. Fetch it. Compared to the Chuckit rocket we own, it is so much more durable. I like that I have no worries letting her chomp on it. It doesn’t compromise the integrity of the toy at all.

Day 2:

The tossing disc is still pretty much ignored. Even with hole in middle not an easy catch and carry toy for Lola B. Also impossible to just chew on as other are all perfect for. Then again, she is not a big Frisbee dog.

Jack still #1 on Lola’s list. Backyard Birdie is pretty fun to chew too. But Lola B. seems more interested in chewing toys then fetching.

Day 3:

Lola B. took the Doggie Dart to bed last night. She’s kept it in the house ever since. Must be something good – I think this must be love!

Day 4:

MINE! MINE! MINE! Target Jack is Lola’s for keep. She takes it and runs. She has less interest in playing fetch than keep away. Her human siblings find it to be a fun game.

Day 5:

EEEEKKK! There’s been too much testing on the Backyard Birdie. Lola B. tore Backyard Birdie today. But it’s still usable and she still enjoys it.

Day 6:

Performed minor surgery and took a piece off the Backyard Birdie. Once Lola B. sets her mind on destroying a toy, she is very focused. But once the piece was removed, the toy kept its integrity and is still great to play fetch with.

Day 7:

The Target Jack, Backyard Birdie and Doggie Dart rate highest and are carried inside and out at Lola B.’s discretion. She found all the unique shapes are fun to grab and run. It’s funny that the Wapple Ball has been left in the garage as strictly an outside toy, along with the Tossing Disc. The Wapple Ball might do better in a smaller size for smaller mouths. We have had other flexible balls, smaller than a tennis ball, that are more fun to catch if they and fit in the mouth.

The overall consensus is the toys are great for playing fetch, but they also have that quality that inspires a dog to just chew on them. They are durable, even though Lola did take a piece out of the birdie. When I compare the Kurgo Classic Lawn Games line to other toys we have tried, I find them stronger. Add to the fact that Lola now has a new cuddle buddy to sleep with, I’d say these toys have covered all the bases!

The Classic Lawn Games rate high for high for both dog and owner. We both would highly recommend them.

You can pick them up from Kurgo online or at your local pet store. Backyard Birdies, Doggie Darts, Huck-It Horseshow, Target Jack, Wapple Ball, and Tossing Disc range in price from $8 to $10.
