The Cat Daddy is spreading more of his good works as he partners with GreaterGood.org. The Jackson Galaxy Project will work to better the lives of at-risk animals and the people who take care of them.

Jackson Galaxy’s The Jackson Galaxy Foundation is joining forces with GreaterGood.org to become The Jackson Galaxy Project. As a signature program within GreaterGood.org, the Project will work to enrich the lives of at-risk animals everywhere, as well as support those who tirelessly and selflessly care for them. Galaxy is a well-known animal advocate and cat expert, and this will allow him to expand his philanthropy for pets.

Liz Baker is the Executive Director of GreaterGood.org and says that they’ve been working with the Cat Daddy for the last three years. GreaterGood.org is thrilled to officially partner with Galaxy as they work to create innovative programs that help pets and people better their lives.

Together with GreaterGood.org, The Jackson Galaxy Project will create more Pet-friendly Domestic Violence Shelters to allow abuse victims to escape their abusers without having to leave beloved furry family members behind. Galaxy plans to incorporate his skills and ‘catification’ abilities in pet-friendly shelters that are designed specifically to reduce stress from already-stressed relocated pets of abuse victims.

An alarming seventy-one percent of pet-owning women who enter shelters claim that their abuser also abused or even killed their family pet. Many fear leaving without their pet so much that up to 40% of abuse victims don’t escape their situations because they won’t leave their pets in harm’s way.

Galaxy said he saw the ability of GreaterGood.org to help animals and people worldwide years ago, and he is honored to officially partner with them as they continue to save more lives. He says that those at GreaterGood.org are like-minded friends he trusts will carry his vision into the future.

Galaxy created The Barry Fund in honor of his wife’s cat Barry to help provide assistance for cats who need costly medical care. He is excited that this program, as well as others like Cat Pawsitive, a clicker-training program for shelter cats aimed at helping them become adopted faster, will have the ability to make a greater impact with the partnership.
