Adoptable Dog of the Week- Roy

Sweet, fun, and active, this pooch will be a perfect adventure companion! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Roy, a year old Shepherd mix from Sisterville, West Virginia. Roy is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and housetrained. He is good with other dogs and will do well in a family with older children.

Roy’s Tale

A good boy through and through, Roy will put a smile on your face every day. He is people-oriented and loves everyone he meets- his ideal routine would include a lot of time with his favorite humans. Being young and energetic, Roy will need a lot of exercise, so be sure to count on frequent walks, hikes, and playtime. He’d do best in a house with a backyard where he could play and run around to burn off excess energy, but he’s a chaser- so the yard would have to be securely fenced. A squirrel in sight and Roy bolts off!

Roy is smart and a quick learner, and he’s already house trained and knows some commands such as sit. With a dedicated owner, he could learn so much more- he certainly has the brains and the eagerness for it! He does well with dogs, but he’s young and playful so it would be best if he’d first meet his potential canine roommate to see if they are a good personality fit. Due to his size and rambunctiousness, he’s a better fit for older children that he can’t accidentally knock over during play. His size, energy, and desire to chase anything that runs probably don’t make him the best companion for a cat, though.

If this chocolate-coated cutie has stolen your heart, contact Olive Branch Animal Rescue Refuge Inc. to learn more about Roy and the adoption process. Fingers crossed that this pretty pooch becomes your newest family member!
