Your dog needs his own website – set one up in minutes with PackDog.com

Ever wish there was a social network where you could post unlimited photos of your canine companion? Brag about their latest (and cutest) exploits, without your Facebook friends calling you obsessed (or worse, hiding your updates)?

Enter PackDog.com.

It’s essentially an about.me for dogs and their owners where you can share updates and pictures of your pup to your heart’s content! The site was founded by Squidoo.com co-founder Megan Casey to give dog owners the ability capture “everyday dog moments” and organize them in a beautiful online ‘lookbook’ for their dog.

You can also browse through profiles belonging to other humans and their canine companion and give them some ‘love’ by clicking the heart icon in their profile. That way, you’ll be able to see updates from your most-loved pooches when you sign in. You can also check out who has given your dog some love.

Setting up a profile is super-easy, too — I did it for my girl Matilda in about five minutes! All you need is a nice close-up shot of your dog’s face. Get your creative juices flowing and come up with a cool super-hero name for pup, too; it’ll be the tagline that appears below their actual name on their profile. The site also lets you play around with the profile layout and text colors a bit, so don’t be afraid to get original with it.

If you’re really dedicated, you can also apply to be a curator (a.k.a. Pack Leader) for your dog’s breed on PackDog. You’ll basically be in charge of surfing the interwebs for new toys, gifts and cute finds relevant to your dog’s breed and turning in your list of discoveries once a week. The PackDog team will turn your finds into an awesome weekly newsletter that’s sent out to all the humans on the site who own the same breed as you. Pretty cool, if you ask me! A lot of breeds already have Pack Leaders, but there are still many that don’t, so be sure to check the site if you’re interested in applying.

So, what do guys think? Is a social network for dogs crossing the line into crazy dog person territory? Or is it just another great way to show your puppy love? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
