
Survey shows a staggering 99 percent of women consider their dog as part of the family
There is no better feeling then waking up next to your best friend – your furry best friend! That’s what a recent survey conducted by SheByShe concludes. According to the results, 85 percent of women surveyed across the country consider their dogs to be their best friend and 99 percent consider them to be family.
Our dogs are faithful companions we can tell everything to without worrying about being judged. They are there for us at our worst, and help to bring out the best. So long to the days of “man’s best friend,” and say hello to everyone’s best friend. Personally, I believe the shift toward gender neutrality is way overdue in this instance. From policeman to police officer, mailman to postal worker, salesman to salesperson, it’s about time we let the world know Fido is our best companion. Why diamonds were ever considered is beyond me – a stone can’t cuddle or give you kisses, like a dog can.
In a world where trust often seems fleeting, dogs have our backs. “I have complete trust in my dogs,” one of the women surveyed said. “Can’t imagine my life without the friendship of my dog” said another. The general consensus of the survey was that women love their pets and want what’s best for them.
