What a sweetheart! Meet Sweet Pea, our Adoptable Dog of the Week. This young lady is a Boxer mix from Phoenix, AZ. Sweet Pea is already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Sweet Pea’s Story:

Where do we begin with Sweet Pea? Her story has touched many hearts. When our paths crossed, Sweet Pea was skin and bones and peppered with ticks. It took many hours to catch her and many more days until we gained her trust. Fast forward to today, and Sweet Pea has been re-born. She greets each and every person with a huge wag of the tail and will immediately attempt to kiss you right on the lips! It has been a complete joy to see the progress that kind voices and hands have been able to do for Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea (or “Peanut”) loves her daily walks and car rides, but prefers to snuggle on a lap than romp with her foster dog friends. There are moments that her past will still show… a loud noise, quick movements; but every day we are seeing wonderful progress. Sweet Pea would do best in a mellow household with perhaps a mellow dog friend. She does love kids and would be happy to go to a home with kids who would walk and love her. She is beautiful and will make the most wonderful companion. Sweet Pea is available for adoption with a $200 donation. If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out the application on Poverty’s Pets website.
