I know there are dogs out there that love to snack on veggies. Oscar is not one of them. Sure, he wags his tail and looks up expectantly at me while I’m cutting green beans, but when I give him one to eat, he just sniffs at it and leaves it on the floor, untouched. That’s why I’ve had to get sneaky with slipping vegetables into Oscar’s diet. And the Eat Your Veggies Dog Treat Recipe is just one of those ways. I add peas, carrots, spinach and green beans into a powerful little treat – and Oscar gobbles it up without an upturned nose.

Eat Your Veggies Dog Treat Recipe

Makes 40-50 cookies

Ingredients:

3 cups whole wheat flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

1/4 bran

1 egg

1/3 cup vegetable oil

2 cups green beans, chopped

1 cup frozen pea and carrot medley

½ cups of spinach (fresh or frozen)

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon parsley
